The theme poster for Black Rock City 2025 summons a deep playa sunrise, infused with utopian vibes of a retro science fiction novel. It’s designer, Eric Thompson, describes his inspiration: “Tomorrow Today instantly evoked a retro sci-fi aesthetic for me. However, I wanted to capture that essence without relying on the usual visual tropes—no rockets. Instead, I leaned into nostalgia through a carefully chosen retro font and color palette, complementing them with an illustration of the sunrise over the playa—a symbolic nod to new beginnings.”
